Friday Afternoon Mixers Buena Vista, Virginia –April 20, 2005 – Beginning May 6, 2005, The Vista Links will begin hosting Golf Mixers each Friday afternoon. The 9-hole events will tee off at 5:30 pm each Friday (weather permitting) through September and will be a Captain’s Choice format with prizes awarded each week. General Manager and Head PGA Professional Ed Armentrout will organize the teams based on handicap and playing ability. The entry fee is $25 and includes range balls, green fees, cart fees, and prizes. For those golfers who participate in the Friday Mixers at least two times per month, they will be entered into a drawing to win a complimentary foursome at The Vista Links. “We are excited to begin hosting the Friday Mixers. What better way to start the weekend,” commented Armentrout. “It’s for men and women golfers of all levels and will be a wonderful opportunity for area golfers to meet new people. Golf Passes Buena Vista, Virginia – March 24, 2005 – The Vista Links is now offering Annual Golf Passes to area residents, which allows them unlimited play on the new 18-hole championship course for no additional fee. The Annual Golf Pass is good April 1, 2005 though March 31, 2006 with prices as follows:
The Vista Link Golf Association
is also being organized to offer Association members a variety of tournaments
and social activities for the frequent golfers of The Vista Links. The $25
annual membership fee will enable Association members to have their USGA
handicap calculated through the VSGA/MAPGA handicap program while also allowing
them participation in monthly fun tournaments and events. Association membership
is available to all area golfers to include annual pass holders and other
frequent golfers. “We hope the area residents will
take advantage of this great opportunity to make The Vista Links their home
course,” commented Ed Armentrout, General Manager and head golf professional at
The Vista Links. “The course has matured nicely over the fall and winter and we
are looking forward to a great season this year. The Annual Golf Pass is a great
way to play the course on a regular basis at an extremely affordable price. And
when you add the wonderful tournaments and events the Association will be
coordinating, The Vista Links will be fun, active golf facility where everyone
will want to play.” The Vista Links is an 18-hole, par 72
championship course and the city’s first municipal golf course. The golf course
was designed by award-winning architect Rick Jacobson and recently opened on
August 26, 2004. As part of the expanded 600-acre master-planned park system,
The Vista Links is a links style golf course located on 180 acres of undulating
topography located between two mountain ranges and offers many panoramic views
of the mountains and the city. The course features bentgrass greens and
fairways, bluegrass roughs and native grasses throughout while offering five
sets of tees for the enjoyment of low handicappers, seniors, juniors and the
average golfer. The course also boasts an outstanding practice facility
including driving range, putting green and chipping area. Greens fees for The
Vista Links are $10-$27 based on time of day, day of week and season with a
discount for Buena Vista residents and junior golfers. Annual Passes, with
